The double bed was comfortable and had an all in one headboard with bedside shelves and lamps either side Take away breakfast was served in our room due to the restaurant being shut because of the virus, it was nice.
TV and Wifi was also good.Standard or single room — is a classic of hotel business. A single room in any hotel plays a role of its own currency. According to its price, it is possible to estimate the prices for other types of rooms in the hotel. In the hotel guides standard rooms are usually designated with 3 English letters — STD.
The level and range of services that is available in a standard room — is some sort of litmus paper that indicates the service level of the hotel.Shangri La Hotel, The Shard, London, UK - Premier City View Room
The price of a single room is affected by many factors: the furniture, view from the window, the softness of beds, a telephone in the room and even the soap aroma. Rooms must have a TV, radio, bed, desk and closet. In Eastern Europe, China, India, several Latin American countries standard rooms are often furnished with the furniture, age of which can be determined only by the annual rings in wood.
The length of the bath itself is also regulated, which cannot be less than cm. There is a minimum size of a standard room. In the hotels of Europe and the United States a standard room in a hotel has a double bed. Many hotels allow up to people to stay in a single room.
Thus, I haven't paid much attention to sq meters or sq ft. Recently, though, as I book more luxury hotels, I've realized I need to be mindful about it. I've had some rooms under 20 sq meters. If my husband is with me, it's a totally unacceptable size. We're bumping against each other trying to get thru the room.
I'm still trying to decide what the minimum is for me. Hotel websites give a dimension that includes the bathroom space. Thus, a number can feel very different in one hotel versus another depending on the split between the bathroom and the bedroom.
And the number can feel very different depending on how well the hotel lays out the furniture. So, this number is very soft.
I've decided 25 sq meters is the minimum that I want, and I'll be happier at 30 sq meters and above. This really matters when I stay at luxury hotels.
I need to book the room in which I will be happy to stay. Yes, there are sometimes Virtuoso upgrades and the like, but I don't count on them.
It's frustrating when a hotel website does a very poor job of explaining the various room categories and their sizes. What about you?

My husband and I tend to need a lot of space - we're both tall and there's no way we could sleep in what the U. If need be, we'd get twin beds, but I need to know what our options are. A web site targeted at UK people will probably say "king" while one targeted at US people will probably say "queen". A UK king is similar to a US queen. Be aware too that in the UK a "twin" room is likely to have 2 single beds 36 inches wide x 75 inches long rather than the 2 doubles that I often see in my visits to the USA.
Also, as the width of beds increases that doesn't always seem to increase the lengthmany beds seem to be a standard length even if the bed is wider than average. If its likely to be an issue I'd advise checking specifically with each hotel rather than taking it for granted.
Without accessing the website; from trips to US and buying the excellent quality bedding there at knockdown prices to we UK folk; I suggest:. This is not definitive as we have seen different sizes on packs of both US and UK makers of bedding being declared as King, Queen, whatever. Sadly for some, many UK hotels have more "twin" rooms than doubles; presumably because this gives more flexibility. Some hotels present a standard twin set up but will join the beds together if you're friendly.
Being educated on the old 50s and 60s US soaps and comedies, many Brits believe US folk only ever use single beds, even on honeymoons, and I do know hotels who automatically allocate twins to American guests. Even the more recent shows Ghost Whisperer - one of my favourites show young newly married folk wearing copious clothing in bed even when Conversely in Franceyou can find it difficult to get single beds and the doubles can be very small indeed c'est la vie en France!
A standard double is 4' 6" x 6' 3" and a king is 5' by 6' 6" There are Superkings but these are not normally found in hotels. Apparently in the US there is no actual reg size for a Queen it's just a descriptor.
Twin beds are usually 2 singles which will probably be 3' wide and 6' 3" long. Sleep Inn does list King size which should be adequate unless you're both taller than 6' 6".
Look on their own website for the most accurate info and prob the best rates. We're not that tall and both under 6ft. However it's always seemed weird that a bed would be, say 6ft or 6ft3in, with the bed "industry" considering that is OK for 6 footers and more. Don't we have pillows at the top? Our heads will "start" a few inches lower, and we don't want our feet up against the bottom of the bed.In Partnership With:.
